Re: Facility & Maintenance Updates
*******************************************************************
Dear Premier at Sawmill Athletic Club members,
January and the “new year” is officially over. However, it is still that time of year where activity at the club is at a maximum and it is busy! I would like to update you on important information about the club in the midst of everything else that is going on in your life.
Premier is privileged to have many members use the club frequently this time of year. As a result of high usage, facility and maintenance issues occur that are an inconvenience. It is extremely important to me and our staff that Premier delivers the quality and convenience you have come to expect from your club. We currently are working on a number of areas in order to meet your expectations that I would like to share with you. Below are areas that we have completed or are currently being improved:
1. New Management System: Premier has a new management system that will allow for better speed, improved access to member information on our website, and the opportunity to provide more tools for our staff in an effort to better serve you. There have been some bumps in the road however we are progressing and members will soon be able to receive new membership cards.
2. Security & Outside Lot: Surveillance cameras are almost complete. The lots are at 65% coverage and we expect them to be completed by the end of the month. Inside cameras have been completed. Signs will be posted around the outside of the building and lots upon completion. Plain clothes police continue to monitor the lots however please remove valuables from your vehicle and take advantage of our free lockers. The parking lot originally was scheduled for repairs and re-marking of lines last spring however we postponed this for summer 2012. A new configuration will assist for better organization allowing more spaces to park.
3.Parking and Crosswalk: We continue to have Police duty to walk members through our crosswalk and ourrequest to the city engineers to add a “beacon” crossing light. Please call Rick Tilton at 645-7263 to voice your concerns.
4. Early Morning Manager on Duty: Our 5:30am M-F early bird members will now have the ability to report, discuss or have assistance with their needs during this time period. Your voice and needs must be heard and met during this time therefore please see Stefanie Crea our new MOD for assistance.
5. Early Bistro Hours: The Bistro has opened an hour earlier (7am M-F) to serve those who want breakfast on the go such as protein bars, coffee, fruit and made to order, fresh egg and bagel sandwiches.
6. Racquetball Court: The front wall of Court #3 has successfully been replaced. New LED Lights have been ordered and will be installed by the end of February. The back wall has been waterproofed and sealed.
7. Roof: Able Roofing has been contracted to repair and resurface any remaining issues. This includes the back area of the weight and machine rooms. We are excited that we will have a quality roofing company to complete the project.
8. Machine maintenance cards: Cards are now provided for your use at all desk areas to report and respond to machines that are having problems. This will allow us to better troubleshoot the issues and make repairs in a timely manner. All team members are instructed to assist you in filling out and reporting these cards.
Upcoming projects:
- Energy efficient lights and fixtures(in progress)
- Recycle(paper and plastic)
- Locker keys and bands(in progress)
- New towels (in progress)
- New Benches in locker rooms
- Locker upgrades

Towels- Many towels leave the club. Premier continues to supply and keep up with the demand and towels that leave the club. It cost the club approximately $19,600 in 2011 to supply towels and small hand towels (which are intended for machines). What you can do: Return any towels mistakenly taken home, report theft and limit the amount of towels used within reason during your visit.
I encourage members to use the comment cards provided at the service desk. I read them and respond to as many as possible and will continue to listen to your comments and suggestions.
